Chris Curvey: Django Performance

Date: Monday, December 14th @ 7pm

The most amazing website will fail if it is slow. We will take a sample website and tweak it for speed by adjusting settings files, caching, and using faster programming idioms, and we will introduce some helpful tools along the way.

There will be significant opportunities for hands-on activity (if the WiFi gods be with us), so bring your laptops. (I'll put up a GitHub project with all the stuff you will need to play along. )

Chris has been developing in Python since version 1.5, and in Django since 0.96. He has been tuning database systems since the abacus. He spends his spare time wondering where jelly munchkins come from.

Chris has prepared a repository containing the project that we will be working with during the Meetup, here: https://github.com/ccurvey/djperf
